Some signs that you’ve found a great manager (while interviewing)
Finding a supportive manager who will give you opportunities to learn, grow, and level up in your career is important. You’ll uncover a lot of these green flags by asking the right questions:
They have a clear understanding of the role, why they’re hiring, and the impact it will have on the company
They give you their full attention during the call (as much as they can). Slack notifications are muted or ignored, they’re not checking their email, etc.
They encourage you to interview them and learn more about the company
They value their team’s professional development and growth
When it’s your turn to ask questions, they are transparent and honest. (This one can be hard to gauge, but it’s a good sign if they’re willing & eager to answer the hard questions.)
They encourage a healthy work/life balance (for themselves and their team)
They own their mistakes and their strengths
